Attorney Sean O'Connor

Sean O’Connor graduated cum laude from the University of Connecticut School of Law with a Juris Doctor and a Tax Certificate. Sean also graduated magna cum laude from the University of Maine with a degree in Philosophy and Psychology and an additional degree from the University of Maine Honors College.

Sean’s legal career has been entirely dedicated to tax compliance with an emphasis on international tax compliance. He spent several years as the manager of a moderately sized tax department at a firm specializing in international disclosures. He has trained many tax preparers on the ins and outs of complicated tax issues and thoroughly enjoys explaining sophisticated tax principles in relateable ways. He has also spent years in the role of Supervising Attorney, a position that allowed him to continue to review the most complex tax returns while also directly engaging audits, tax resolution issues, and the attorney driven components of international disclosures.

In his free time, Sean enjoys playing ice hockey and racquetball. Sean is, at heart, a competitor, and this is a trait that makes him very effective at advocating for his clients.

Attorney Robert Lyon

Bob Lyon graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Law with a Tax Certificate, denoting advanced study in Tax Law.  Prior to attending UConn Law, Attorney Lyon attended the University of Connecticut where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English.

Prior to founding The Law Offices of O'Connor & Lyon, he worked at The Law Offices of Parent & Parent (IRS Medic), where he headed the firm's Domestic Tax Department, representing hundreds of taxpayers before the IRS and state revenue agencies to resolve tax liabilities and controversies.  He also provided tax and estate planning services to both corporate and individual clients.

He is admitted to the Bar in the State of Connecticut, but has represented clients from across the world before the IRS and the numerous state revenue agencies.

In his free time, Bob enjoys golf, skiing, and attending UConn Ice Hockey games.
